The Story Behind the Coffee

This unique lot comes from Central Sumatera Coffee’s Bener Meriah estate in Aceh, Indonesia, produced in collaboration with Asbi’s estate and the Aalamin brand. Unlike the region’s traditional smallholder wet-hulled coffees, this microlot underwent a multi-stage process, including anaerobic fermentation with yeast and co-fermentation using lychee. The result is a vibrant cup with unmistakable lychee character, layered with marmalade and caramel sweetness. Beyond its expressive flavour, this coffee reflects CSC’s innovative approach to fermentation and their commitment to showcasing the potential of Aceh’s exceptional terroir.
