The Story Behind the Coffee
Rodrigo Alberto Pelaez has been cultivating coffee at Finca Laderas del Tapias since 2000, shifting his focus to specialty production in 2014. Nestled in the Tapias River Canyon in Neira, Caldas, the estate combines four historic farms: Buenos Aires, Puerto Rico, La Graciela, and Villa Inés; into a single landscape within Colombia’s UNESCO-recognised Coffee Cultural Heritage region. With altitudes ranging from 1,600 to 2,050 metres and rich volcanic soils, Laderas del Tapias yields coffees that reflect both the region’s natural beauty and its deep-rooted tradition. Each cup is a testament to decades of dedication, careful cultivation, and a passion for quality.
