The Story Behind the Coffee:

Cauca is a region in southwestern Colombia, nestled primarily in the Andes. This region is home to part of the Andean Volcanic Belt which provides the coffee plants with rich in minerals and a perfect environment for coffee cultivation.

This coffee comes from Oscar Riascos and his farm, La Macarena, in Piendamó, Cauca. Oscar lives near the renowned coffee producer Wilton Benitez, whose state-of-the-art processing facilities have influenced the region. As a result, Oscar's crops benefit from more precise, scientific processing methods, giving him an edge in the highly competitive Colombian coffee market.

About the Producer:

At a time when uncertainty clouded the future of many, Óscar and his family decided to bet on excellence. With their own hands, they planted the seeds of a dream at the La Macarena farm, in the heart of Piendamó: Pacamara, Geisha, Bourbon, varieties that would become the canvas for their passion. Convinced that each bean could be a poem, a unique story told in every cup, they embarked on the coffee adventure. The journey, like any great adventure, was full of challenges. But passion, that indomitable force burning in Óscar's heart, was the beacon that guided his steps. Together with his brother Darwin Riascos, Wilton Benítez, and a group of dreamers, they embarked on a revolutionary project, a dance between tradition and innovation. Years of experimentation, sleepless nights, and learning culminated in a magical moment: being recognized as the Best Coffee of Cauca in 2024, an award that echoed as a testament to their tenacity. Today, Óscar Andrés Riascos Martínez is much more than a coffee producer. He is an alchemist of flavors, a storyteller, a dreamer who has shown that, with effort and passion, a small coffee bean can open the doors to the world.
